Pastor Appreciation Day - follow up

The service started with special God honoring music as Bro. Gordon Wells and our praise team lead the congregation in worship of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  The first surprise of the day was having former member, Greg Lynch, and his group, Highway 7, helping with the vocals.  Highway 7 also thrilled the crowd by singing one of their own songs.  Susan Lynch ended the song  portion of the service with a special of her own.

Bro. Cain was "given the weekend off" as the second surprise of the day unfolded.  He did not know who would be preaching for the service until his dear friend, David Thomas, came through the doors and was introduced to the congregation as the special speaker.  Bro. David allowed God to use him to present a wonderful message filled with the love of God and the challenges to service that Bro. Cain often emphasizes in his own messages.  How amazing it was to hear this dear brother pour out his soul.  His anectdotal stories about our pastor also made for a great time had by all.

The next surprise of the day was a meal for everyone being priepared and delivered by the owner and wait staff of Veano's.  They came early and began to prepare a wonderful steak or prime rib meal that really hit the spot.  The little kids were also thrilled to be served a chicken finger dinner.  Dessert was a beautiful cake decorated noting the one year anniversary of Bro. Cain's arrival.

One final surprise came as Bro. Cain was presented with a special card and generous gift by his church family and Miss Anna was given a special gift, and a little "he money" of her own, by the women of the church.  They are truly loved and honoring them during this day was a labor of love.
